What an auspicious new year, to be privy to what Ruby would look like if she were black and Chinese.

Some magical girls and some fakémons

We had a substitute math teacher who managed to teach nothing but matrices for like three months and suddenly disappeared while we were waiting for marks that would effectively determine whether we passed the year or not; I seem to remember when they did finally appear they were seemingly entirely random. Some time later I saw her at the mall and she'd dyed her hair blonde, which probably didn't mean anything but we joked that it made her prior disappearance rather more suspicious.

Last drawing of last year. Somewhat conveniently timed since 2025 was between the years of the dragon and the horse.

First thing to spring to mind is Kuru Kuru Kururin

By the later devs of UMvC3. The GBA version never had an NA release. The premise is fairly simple: your ship is constantly spinning (Hence the kuru in the title, which I'm led to believe means spin) and you have to navigate through a series of obstacles each stage, and can get hit thrice before dying. Sometimes you hit a spring and start rotating the other way.

There's thirty main stages, forty or maybe fifty shorter challenge stages, and a couple of bonus ones I can't quite remember how you unlock. Either you had to get every collectable or beat every stage without taking damage or both. Not a long game by any means but the cutesy style belies an incredibly frustrating experience as it goes on. I remember figuring out a pretty gnarly skip on one of the challenge stages where I deliberately took damage to force my way through an obstacle faster, which saved enough time to entirely negate the 2-second penalty for taking damage. Also it has maybe one of the most unique easy modes I've ever seen which is your ship simply becoming smaller.

I like how the Kermit seems to be the only surviving image in the first post

Not exactly lost since it's still up but this website appears to be the source of the most liked image on Gelbooru and it's quite something:

http://morikawadanpage.web.fc2.com/index.html

Incredibly 2000s aesthetic pervading the whole thing. Remarkably seems to have been updated as recently as 2020 though.

Had a goofy little idea of a team of magical girls whose identities are concealed by them growing thematically appropriate moustaches when transforming. This one's based on the Chinese dragon, or "long" or sometimes "loong," and so her outfit is based on the dragon robe or longpao. Haven't given her a regular name yet but as a magical girl name I've been using Moustache Loongue, a pun I'm quite happy with.

Second one, based off of a catfish and the associated Japanese myth of a huge one that caused earthquakes. The stone says "kaname-ishi," or something like "spirit stone," which was the name of one particular stone that supposedly prevented earthquakes by holding the catfish down. Her pun name is Nyamazu, a mix of namazu (catfish) and nyan because I thought it would be funny if she decided to pretend she was cat-themed rather than catfish-themed specifically. This is also why I drew her with her fist in that position.
Walrus girl. Less to say about the design this time. The patterns are based somewhat on those associated with the area around the Mezen river in Russia, though those are quite specifically black and red and the walrus-based colour scheme didn't really permit me that. Originally she was going to have completely blonde hair and a hood over it but it felt somewhat incongruent with both the other girls and the general design philosophy of magical girls as a whole. The background element is oysters, in reference to the Lewis Carroll poem.

Bird fella who gives the girls their powers à la Luna from Sailor Moon. Lightly based on the Inca tern though fairly removed in several aspects.
Wanted to have a good image for the Toyhouse folder so I drew a group photo

All that foliage was quite a thing to get done. I have plans for bearded and bald magical girls in the future but idk when I'll get around to them.

Bunch of art because I scanned the page with all these drawings on it yesterday.
More Pokemon:

More creatures:

And a pal's OC, called Eka, continuing my 3-letter OC pursuit:

This one features me panicking as the skirt and boots are meant to be darker than the gloves and armband and so on, but if I'd made them completely black like those then I wouldn't be able to include the details on the pteruges, so I decided to make the colour darker than the outline and act as if the outline was a highlight in this case but I'm sure astute eyes can tell that that was not the plan going in.

Normal. Trying to get some projects done over the summer. Might be getting a job or at least a practise soon; got a call about it but still figuring stuff out.

Some other stuff.
Man catcher magical girl:

Some Pokersmon:

OCs of a pal of mine. He and I both have three-letter nicknames on the one Discord server we're both in, and entirely coincidentally the first couple times we drew each others' OCs they happened to be characters with three-letter names so I thought it would be funny to continue down this path only he only had two three-letter OCs when the exchange began and I have quite a few more than that. Thankfully I've found ways to get around this:
Listed on Toyhouse as TBN, meaning "to be named":

"Tibby" short for Tiberius Aurelius Tybalt, which I have abbreviated to TAT for the purpose of the bit:
