i don't really do resolutions but i have long planned to release my first comic this coming year, as well as get back to animating regularly - which i'm on track to start by february, which is really exciting.

share obscure stuff that has been lost to time on the webzones

in 2001 i got my first real-ish website - as in one i was paying for - after years of using free hosts like angelfire, geocities, tripod, homestead, etc. basically i wanted more than 20MB of space as that was pretty much all you could get for free.

the host was called spaceports, and they have been gone for at least 15 years now. it piqued my interest because of the space theme of the website - how it worked was that after you picked a package you could pick a planet to have your site on, with names of all kinds of planets and moons in our solar system. mine was on the planet cirrus, so my website was something like cirrus.spaceports.com/~rtil. unfortunately it was never archived, but lots of other ones were.

they had a forum, an irc chat, and a sense of community that you definitely would not find at a webhost these days. i made a lot of friends there back then and i have a lot of good memories of it. here's some good screenshots from archive.org:

they had a page for the most visited sites, updated daily. "top sites" were huge back then, so this was a necessity. most of these are archived, so if you want to visit them you still can.

I'll be using this thread to keep everyone updated on my (slow) progress of re-building the site with NEW and IMPROVED code that i stole from the internet and SMASHED with a hammer to bend to my will.

first order of business: the NSFW bbcode is back! simply add a URL between [ nsfw ] and [ /nsfw ] and you are done - the tag will get the image dimensions automatically. have fun!

you can also @mention users in posts. a drop-down list of members will appear while typing. they will receive an alert when you do so.

if there are features you think are more important than others or ones that you miss from the old site, please let me know and i'll move them up my priority list. if you find any bugs or notice a problem, poke me here or on discord. i'll try to do at least one small project a week.

after 3+ years of me not fixing the forum i finally did it

unfortunately the forum software was so goddamn old that the only way to do this meant sacrificing the old theme, so everything looks very default now

if there's any interest in actually using the forum i think it would be fun to re-shape it into something more unique, but we'll see

obviously part of the reason why i didn't bother for so long was that we've all long since moved on to discord, but i know a lot of people (including myself) have many fond (or horrible) memories here, which is why i made it a point to keep all the posts intact

speaking of which, there's probably a lot of broken images, missing avatars, autoplays/swfs don't work anymore, etc etc. i can't do much about that if they are not hosted here. but all things considered, i'm pretty happy that the upgrade worked without anything exploding.

after almost a week of the forum literally trying to kill itself, i grabbed it by the dick and pulled it from the river styx. not today motherfucker! now let's get to boomerposting

my host did some shitty """"upgrade"""" to their servers in december which utterly fucked some shit i was able to fix some of it but things like quick reply are probably permabroken unless i move to the newest version of simplemachine forums. probably won't have time to do any of that until the summer but if there's any interest i'll put it on my to-do list. on the other hand forums are dedgaem b/c discord so i don't see the point unless people are actually gonna post on it.

TBA now has a section for comics, since I made a hentai comic with Aikuxa called Reality Plus.

It's not up in the main menu but if I keep using it I might replace it with something that's dead like basically everything besides discord 

the forums are unfucked. you thought you were free from this outdated and redundant form of communication, but alas.. it remains.

i recently received a very generous early christmas gift of a nintendo switch, breath of the wild and super mario odyssey. so now that i have one i might as well start using it!

what are the best games for the switch? looks like there's a ton of stuff i can download besides physical games. i really don't know much about the switch titles beyond the obvious ones like splatoon, mario kart and ARMS.

can someone go see this movie before me and tell me if the critics are just memeing or not i refuse to believe this movie isn't horrible
