systech's post can be an exception i guess since it was made before this edit
so i'm sure by this point everyone's seen this ridiculous thing. i remember hearing about it awhile back based solely on the amount of funding it received, but i was pretty convinced it would be quite a few years before i was able to experience it for myself, given that it's just one of those things that doesn't mean anything until you try it. most people felt similarly, and have forgotten about it. however, since the successful kickstarter finished about a year and a half ago, the technology has received a fair bit of attention.

since, september 1st, 2012

-oculus has shown off a 1080p prototype, and another that features reduced latency and positional tracking
-an oculus rift simulator is made, visually comparing the devkits to the expected consumer version
-the boiler room scene from spirited away has been recreated
-the first vr film posts an interactive trailer, while game of thrones films their own short experience
-priovr starts a kickstarter for a full body tracking controller. it looks pretty silly but this thing has like $200,000 as i write this with 28 days to go
-a company named infinite realities creates hyper realistic 3d models
-sony has been strongly rumoured about working on their own for the ps4
-valve has made their own prototype, added a vr support search function on steam, and have made it very clear that they plan on giving it a very big push

although i could go on, i'm only trying to point out that this technology has made more than notable progress over a fairly short period of time. noticing this, it made me pretty interested in where all of this is leading. there's already a multiplayer game on steam greenlight that is literally played by using your mind to throw objects. i've seen both of these threads, so i'm aware this isn't the first time it's been mentioned.

oculus will be at gdc this month and will be talking about future development hardware, (crossing my fingers for dk2 shortly) and the word is sony is finally going to show off their hmd as well.

i'm not trying to sell anyone on this, i'm just interested about your thoughts on the sci-fi looking, not-so-far-off-anymore, future.

i'm surprised this doesn't have a topic yet

show's pretty fantastic. the first 6 episodes are already around the web and it's the best cartoon i've seen in awhile. i actually like it more than adventure time/regular show/etc.

so, e3's going on for the next 3 days and some cool video games are usually announced so i figured why not make a thread.

anyway, graphics don't usually impress me but this was :O

Watch Dogs - Game Demo Video [UK]

and the south park game looks pretty amazing. looks exactly like the show and plays like paper mario.

South Park : The Stick of Truth Trailer (E3 2012)

it's barely even started yet but some of the stuff they're announcing/showing seems pretty promising. i'm mostly excited for nintendo's announcements.

Entertainment / Nintendo 3DS
July 30, 2011 04:59 AM
so with the forum being a little slow lately and me currently being very interested in this i thought i'd make a thread.

i'm sure most people have heard about nintendo's huge slash on the 3DS's price tag to mark it down from $249.99 to an actually reasonable $169.99 it makes it a lot more tempting buy for me. although the only games released on the console right now i'm interested in are the zelda and doa: dimensions, the console looks to have a really great set of games to come out in the future.

with games like doctor lautrec, starfox 64 and zelda: four swords (free) slated for september and shin megami tensei: devil survivor overclocked coming out in august i'm not very worried about having to wait a long period of time for good games to come out.

the 3ds may not be a perfect console but i played my ds this year more than my 360 and ps3 combined. i'm now more than willing to completely be done with those consoles and invest my money into something i'd enjoy more. i love portable gaming, but am not interested in the psp vita.

so, tba, tell me, what do you think of the 3ds? do you think it's crap 'cause it has
no games
? do you think nintendo's in real trouble because of the massive price drop? do you already have a 3ds?

well, share your thoughts. i am excited to get one regardless.

piper sketch that i will probably colour but don't really know what i'm doing.

that redm doodle.

first and second pages of a random comic, just playing around

also first attempt at screentoning a page. it didn't turn out so well.

oh and i guess i might as well post this too. i don't really like it all that much but it was the first thing i did digitally and the only thing i did solely with my tablet.
i put pretty much all the drawings here in links 'cause i didn't want to have a massive first post.
