i finally shipped off my expensive 1st gen Apple HomePods to the one guy in the united states who repairs them. if he can fix them, i'll have my killer TV sound system back for like $250, if not i'll just be out the shipping cost and lookin at $600 to replace the pair. i chose the pod life but wtf

i fell asleep listening to the tired sounds of stars of the lid again, no weird dreams this time but my right airpod got squooshed into my ear and even after i got up, showered, drove to work, etc. my ear kept popping / unpopping all day long. it finally stopped somewhere on my drive home. be careful

it is unironically very brave to unearth teen cringe of this vintage. i love the 🔥 HOT LINKS section 🔥. i guess 1999 predates the era of shiny little "affiliate" icons & things of that nature but having a roster of other cool shit to link to was always an essential part of hacving your own site/page/blog

The only thing I could find about it is a very colorful reply from The Swain In one of Tom's announcements and a reply to Swain's post where the user use that.
