- go to bed between 9-10 pm and wake up 5-6 am every day. i maintained this schedule for a while the last time i had a regular weekday type job and it felt so right
- quit smoking completely for as long as it takes for this fucking cough to go away
- knock it outta the park during 2nd semester back at college

i was at work last week and for some reason my weeaboo gamer coworker brought up chris niosi re: voice acting and i was like "hahaha ffffucking kirbopher" and she said "what" and i had to reveal my newgrounds power level and explain that i used to make fun of chris "kirbopher" niosi on an internet messaghe board for flash portal criminals  :kirb:

a life after newgrounds IS possible

ok now why did swain come out swinging about tba in the sirtom93 thread? did "thomas" ever even post here? or was swain just drinking & newgrounding again

it is unironically very brave to unearth teen cringe of this vintage. i love the 🔥 HOT LINKS section 🔥. i guess 1999 predates the era of shiny little "affiliate" icons & things of that nature but having a roster of other cool shit to link to was always an essential part of hacving your own site/page/blog

Quote from: Dr. DiegO on June  3, 2024 11:49 AMThe only thing I could find about it is a very colorful reply from The Swain In one of Tom's announcements and a reply to Swain's post where the user use that.

this has to be it lmao

eyelovepoozy was a bbs mod & professional crane operator who spent all day sitting in his crane cab poasting on the general forum and banning 12-yr olds

here's a prompt cause i don't remember: what was the origin/context of "tba cunts"

this is debatably "ambient" but it's soothing & mysterious
personal favorite track is "WR" at 10:20

Quote from: rtil on May  4, 2024 11:52 PMoh man, this is a good question actually. i'll have to collect my thoughts on it first. i haven't thought about it in a while. the wayback machine can give you some snapshots of this sites' history in the meantime.

if you have the time i would be interested to read rtil's tba history. i have lots of memories/stories but idk how to put them in context

tl;dr in the flash glory days great minds of newgrounds congregated here to talk shit, collaborate & discuss the meta. chaos reigned

2 nights ago i fell asleep listening to the tired sounds of stars of the lid & had a dream where i was platonically showering with another man. it wasnt sensual or erotic in any way, we were just in the same shower at the same time, handing the soap back & forth. anyway post your favorite ambient/drone music, background noise, et cetera, anything cool that is "as ignorable as it is interesting"

i must have watched the adventures of milo & otis a hundred times at grandma's house. puppy & kitten on a farm get swept up in wilderness adventure & must surmount flora & fauna to survive & thrive. xtremely corny, pretty cute, anyway you can see right in th trailer that in one scene they just like put a kitten in a box & pushed it over a waterfall lol

i love my apartment. i've had my own place for a couple yrs now & it's not super deluxe but it's home. i got the furniture & decor looking elegant after yrs of autismo iteration & careful plotting. i have a big ikea shelf for all my soy knick knacks. i got them apple homepods in every room and i can play whatever whenever. never have to fight over the bathroom or kitchen. it's blissful. i've also really come to appreciate stuff like the pine tree outside the window & how the shade is cast as the sun moves across the sky, or when the amtrak train blasts thru as i'm walking out to my car with the city skyline on the horizon & it feels like my life a movie frfr

the main problem is the constant highway noise & the fine white dust settling on every surface in my home & every cell in my body but w/e i guess that's life in the fast lane  :duke:

idk about within 5 yrs, feels like existing trends just intensified. covid really scrambled everything & idk if theres been enough time to figure it out.

internet sucks now. it really feels like you used to be able to go online & forget. then there was facebook & twitter & you had to go there cause that's where the "real people" were. now all the real people are online & they never leave. it's tempting to say "it sux cause everything's political now" but i've only ever known a post-9/11 web and the shockwaves are still reverberating. going online has always been a politically charged experience where some jackoff could start posting osama bin laden herka derka derka gifs at any moment

smartphones changed everything for the worse. the early web was just words & pictures in a frame on your desk & you looked at it basically like you looked at a printed page. when autoplaying videos came along (via flash player) people complained about it bitterly — now every app-that-used-to-be-a-website is on your phone in your pocket just waiting to blast fuclking garbage at you instantly on login & it doesn't stop, ever. you click the mute button, it unmutes itself the next day. you pick the "following" feed, it picks "for you" again asap. you are constantly railroaded directly towards the absolute worst shit and your options for curation are mostly illusory. its like a gross greasy little crystal ball that you have to touch & stroke constantly to appease it while it shows you physically repulsive imagery, advertising & amber alerts. wtf :duckseason:

i think if they got their hands on a mandolin & some sticks to slap together animal collective could get back to their acoustic-folk roots & thrive in prehistoric baltimore. maybe they could bring peace & enlightened good vibes to tha colonies & save us all a lot of trouble... maybe they'd come back to the future & find a utopian pepperland paradise with a stone statue of their mythical selves in the center of town. that would be cool
