the show seems to be playing out on a one-note gag - that mordecai and rigby are essentially slacker, college-age stoner types who do insignificant, random things every episode. the setting is starting to bug me as well. we don't know anything about how any of these characters came to live with eachother or why they do. they're just there. i dunno, it would be fun to see it develop, and it's too early to say it won't, but if every episode is going to devolve into 80's rock bands and flying into space it's going to get old fast.

I agree but to me it feels like they will be developing the characters over time as well as revealing things from that past that make them more well rounded, like you said it's too early to tell, but they did drop something about skips's past in the last episode.

mordecai does say dude too much but I dont think thats necessarily a bad thing

it's not bad, but i do think it speaks to their one dimensionality as characters
