although this is really beautiful and very inspiring, i feel like these little bits are kind of spoiling it for me. i think i would be blown away way more if i saw everything all at once without seeing any sneak peaks before hand. i know i could do that by simply not watching, but still, the urge to watch anyway overcomes me....... :p
again, awesome stuff and i can't wait to see the whole glorious thing on dA, youtube, tumblr, where ever you upload this bad boy first.

i won't be posting any more until it's finished

wow a Flash movie I'm sorta pumped for..

very meticulous. great choice of song too.

rtil

i'm not sure i'd call it a flash movie. the animation is done in flash, but the backgrounds are done in photoshop and i do a lot of post work in after effects. flash is about 1/3rd of the process.

rtil

i posted these on tumblr. higher res screenshots of each 3 scenes

aw i love this, it's so adorable and sad. great song choice too

lineart for my next painting. might wanna just view it in another tab, it's somewhat wide, and this is even shrunk down. there will be many of these guns in the background as well. taking a long time. trying to keep with this spending more quality time on my paintings, taking a lot of care to make it finished. it paid off last time. only problem is, well, they take so much longer. but i guess it's worth it in the end.

lovely ladies, as usual

wow that looks incredible, so much detail in each of the scenes. i feel like i watched it 10 times and notices something new each viewing. the detail you put into the clouds is amazing (how did you get those to look so good??), and the little movements in the train like the handles bouncing around all slightly out of sync with one another all look amazing, its an incredibly impressive feat when you realize its all by one person.

rtil

i have a brush that is sponge samples that i use for clouds. it works surprisingly well, and better than any other brush i've made that was created by actual cloud samples funnily enough

do you always block in big areas of tone before you go about doing the lines ect, or is it just useful sometimes for planning out big pieces?

"He was shown the smallness and tinsel emptiness of the little Earth gods, with their petty, human interests and connections - their hatreds, rages, loves and vanities; their craving for praise and sacrifice and their demands for faiths contrary to reason and nature."

"...it stimulates the part of the brain called "shatners-bassoon", and that's the bit of the brain that deals with...time perception..."

in this case it was a blown up thumbnail of a silhouette, and i usually do that when a majority of the work is going to involve some sort of architecture. the characters i tend to add on later. but in general i always try to make sure i have a thumbnail that looks good before i do a very large piece, yes.

Wow! Came out a lot different than I expected when I saw the line art. Really cool, the lighting and everything is beautiful. it seems a little odd that the characters are so much lighter than everything else, but obviously you want them to pop more so i get it.

I was surprised how many times you redrew/edited your characters and also the way you turned the canvas a bunch in the beginning. Also props for using siriusmo

That sunrise is beautiful. I don't know how you do it.

they were never in the thumbnail, so i was winging it . even if they were, i probably would have moved them around still. sometimes when you blow stuff up it doesn't look quite like you had hoped. and yeah siriusmo is awesome. i wanted to use another track but it wasn't long enough

staring at clouds, saving every cool cloud picture i find, and lots of practice. it also helps that clouds are in pretty much every painting i've done, which gives me lots of excuse to practice them

i'm glad you feel that way ;_;

Your paintings are starting to look more and more refined, or more so just generally sharp. I don't know exactly how to describe it, but it's excellent
