new york and colleges

Hey kids

That's right i said kids, I'm all grown up now and im getting ready to apply to colleges, woo.

I just finished a four week program at Massart (i live in boston), and really should be looking at schools right now. Yesterday I drove to new york and am planning on looking at colleges and stuff here, so I was wondering where people would recommend looking while in new york. Right now I'm thinking I will probably look at NYU, and upon searching on google I figured it would make sense to look at pratt as well, and also RIT since I knew an animator who went there. So if people know of good art colleges in new york please suggest them.

While I'm on the topic of colleges, if people could recommend ones in the boston area that would be appreciated as well. I know max gilardi goes to AIB at Lesley University so i might check that out, Emerson seems worth a look too. Places with a focus on animation and film is always a plus, and my parents want me to check out liberal arts colleges too so I don't want to limit myself to art school.

Also, while I'm in new york, if people have any ideas of good non-generic touristy things i've done a million times before to do suggest that as well. It's not like I've never been to new york before so I'm not trying to cram a bunch of tours into one trip, and I will probably get plenty of chances to come here again, but any places of interest anyone could suggest would be helpful.

I'm going to either sva or cooper union.
Sva's supposedly a pretty good school, I know a guy who went there who said it was really nice. It's just really expensive.

Cooper union looks pretty good, but it's crazy prestigious. It's completely free if you can manage to get in it though.
But tuition and housing and stuff like that you have to pay for yourself.

muhlenberg college (my school) is the top school in pennsylvania for theater and dance, and they have an amazing program for film directing if you're into that kinda stuff

I love new york theres always something new or exciting to do.

Schools I have heard about:

Digipen (washington): mostly for game animation, thats where Im going in a few weeks

Full Sail (florida): its in florida and people say its horrible there and apparently most of its programs have a bad reputation BUT there are a few people who disagree with this

Edinboro (pennsylvania): ixintro marck and gregly are going there it so its probably pretty awesome

Vancouver film school: awesome, but also very expensive.

Actually I only chose Edinboro really because of how cheap it was and since it is a State school, I get a discount for being a state resident. I just got lucky with how nice the animation program is.
