Is the whole movie dark as fuck like the trailers? Like what the fuck, everything was so colorful and beautiful in the show and then in the movie every scene is composed of shades of black and dark blue.

yeah, for like the whole movie it's cloudy and overcast. it never really changes

i also found out this movie is only 100 minutes long. but really, it felt more like 2-3 hours. i wanted it to end so bad

James Newton Howards's composed it again. So I will watch it at some point.

I didnt like Signs that much, since the message/Mel Gibson was dumb. But some people think its the best for some reason so whatever.

Worst film i've seen was "The Incredible Hulk 2008", not that i've not seen things done worse on Syfy, splatter films. But since they used such a big budget to make something so stupid.

Coming into this movie cold and knowing NOTHING about the cartoon, I liked the plot of a monk boy with air powers trying to restore balance to a world of elements and fighting an industrial fire nation. That's pretty much the gist I got...one thing I wondered at the end though is, if he needs to learn all the elements to become the avatar, who is going to teach him fire?? The fire nation wants to rule everyone and fears the avatars return right?? Also, and maybe it was explained but I missed it...isn't the world kind of out of balance anyways if all the air-people have been genocide?? Even if an avatar is put in place?

I'll probably be lynched by the rest of the forum for this but ehh; I kind of liked it and it made me think maybe the cartoon show has a good plot too(??Or is it different??). So yeah this movie really didn't cause me any loathing or frustration.

the cartoon series has its ups and downs, but the live action film as it stands on its own i thought was downright awful. i mean you have to at least admit the writing and acting was crappy, and those are two important parts of a movie

zuko teaches him firebending in the show, probably gonna be the same if they continue this into a series

the cartoon is alright with some cool moments - and if you like the plot/ideas of airbender it gets them across much better than the movie did. has more time to explain all the mystic crap too
