one dimensional characters that you never get to see develop or change

tacky special effects with no point in the reald3D gimmick (the trailers were more 3D than the movie, they probably threw it in at the last second to jack up ticket prices)

constant narration just in case you didn't hear all the embarassingly awkward and bad dialogue

m. night is just another george lucas - a director who becomes successful, grabs too much power, writes some scripts and everyone's afraid to tell him his ideas are bad, so they all end up on the screen. the happening was the first product of that, and this is the second.

i was lucky enough not to have to pay for my ticket , but to anyone curious - don't bother

no, it was so predictable you knew how it was going to end within the first 10 minutes. actually, that's exactly how "the happening" was, too. no twist at all. in fact it was so boring i started dozing off halfway through. i'm sure i didn't miss much, though.

im definitely not surprised the movie sucks tbh. i dont think animes are suited for live-action adaptations. look at the horrible dragonball z live action movie for example. the shittiness of that movie doesnt reflect the actual quality of the show at all. i watched the first season of avatar and it was much better than i thought it would be tbh. i cant say much for the story itself, but the voiceacting is really good and the characters have a surprising amount of depth. also some of the animators for this show also work on boondocks. i definitely thought an anime on nickelodeon would be 10000% shittier than it actually is

not even close. pretty much every character except zuko acts out of character , or has a complete lack of one. the story is also not only inaccurate, but abridged to the point where critical story elements are explained rather than portrayed.
