I installed windows 7 two days ago and works great

everything seems to work fine except one thing

my internet access goes on & off. It keeps logging me off of aim and sometimes it takes a couple of minutes to receive a message from skype

it also logs me off the irc randomly

I checked out my router & internet access and it said it fast & fine

I worry that it will even log me off of steam and tf2 as well

I never had this problem with vista so how do I fix it?

retrosmash

holy crap, same here!
i use windows 7 and when i'm on wireless, there are times when i just suddenly disconnect from my network and reconnect again immediately afterward, several times in a row.  it gets pretty grating.

this sounds a LOT like a bunch of problems i used to have with my internet (which is why you probably didn't see me playing tf2 nearly as much as i do now)

the fix ended up being an issue with the modem (even though it said it was working fine, sending/receiving fine, it wasn't), and a faulty wire from internet provider

it was also triggered by the update to windows 7, i'm still not quite sure why it would ruin internet access like that, but now it's quite fixed

Philip K Dick

i used to have that too and i fixed it but i dont really remember how

i went into my routers settings i think and i did something

sorry i couldnt be more helpful

Lats, Squats, & Oates

i will bump this to share that i fixed this problem by plugging my router DIRECTLY into my box
