IMO, it's good they're not making it for all three console platforms. The game is being designed with the Wii in mind and hopefully the next 3D Sonic will be for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Considering how 2011 is Sonic's 20th anniversary, I wouldn't be surprised if the next PS3/360 Sonic game releases then.

The game will be coming to Europe on November 12th and it'll come to the U.S. on the 16th which is the same day LBP2 releases. Also revealed is the box art and a new trailer that's very good except the shitty ass music. I really dislike the box art but apparently a lot of people love it.

if they're going to go back to core sonic gameplay they should also go back to core sonic music. if that's the sonic colors theme it is the worst one they've made by far

It sadly is the main theme for the game. Sonic Unleashed had an awful theme song as well but the in-game music is good. I dunno what happened to their theme music. The main theme song for their games used to be the best music in their games or at least that was the case for the Adventure titles. At least the in-game music should be good.

the adventure themes were cheesy but the in-game music was good yes. but nothing has really eclipsed the original music. i think people would love to hear the original sonic jingles and songs from the genesis games. they do it in mario and people can't get enough of it.

Actually, now that I think of it, the theme songs for 3D Sonic games are always cheesy. Cheesy =/= bad, but some of the more recent ones have been shit. The instrumental version of the theme for the '06 Sonic game was pretty solid, but that game is probably terrible. I've never played it other than a demo, but it looks awful.
