most of you have probably already seen the ampharos i drew, some of you have seen the pokemon trainer ASS but i don't think anyone has seen the froslass i drew (cause it sucks lmfao).

Either way, here's a compiled picture of those 3:

and again on their own:

Ampharos:

ASS:

Froslass:

Mightydein

I like you railgun because you draw better than psi.

So let's see....

Line: all the lines are pretty sloppy. The line at times has a nice solid flow but then gets a small wiggle-bump throughout the form. I imagine it's because you stopped mid-drawing to think about which direction to move. Instead make an under layer that fleshes out the forms first with construction lines, then draw the real line work above it as a guide as where to go next in the drawing. Also, don't stop mid-drawing. When you draw on a computer its best to try and get the line right in one good solid stroke, if it comes out wiggly or off then ctrl z and try again until the stroke is round. The straight lines that point out like sharp angles on some parts also don't help. It loses the organic form in the body and the illusion that this creature is alive and real.

Anatomy: On the girl it's all over the place icky. The shoulders are really wide and not the same form in comparison. She's lumpy and the hand (especially the one holding the ball) needs a palm drawn in. The way it is now, the fingers just sprout from the ball. Look at your hand holding an orange and see how the hand has a pit and meat folds around the orange. Note how the fingers wraps around a form too. The butt face is umm...has a strange V crack on the top?? I have no idea why haha. And the hair needs work. Instead image the shape of the hair and draw the hairs out overlapping the group to make more realistic hair and then it will define the shape instead of making it a big chunky sausage thing.

Color: You did well with colors. I see you chose different values of light and dark to create form and that works alright. I like it in the tail of Ampharos most because you can see the lighter shades are also going through the black stripes and giving a lighter grey. But on the face it looks different and smudged. If you use smudge then keep it consistent in the whole piece or keep the flats in the whole piece. It might be helpfully to try and imagine a light source hitting the form so that you don't just do spotlight circles on each body part separately...

Characters: So I looked up what these Pokémon are meant to appear to help me see how they do in comparison...haha I think I like yours more because of their attitudes and "drugged out" expressions. The Ampharos is more convincing though as a messed up ASS Pokémon I think. He has a face and pose that read into the characters personality. But Frolass is just there. No pose or real emotion...just spread out arms wide. Maybe if his arms were cupped or sagging he would seem more natural. For the girl I have no comment lol because I don't know what to say about an ass-faced girl Xb

Overall you just need practice and the final results are still enjoyable to see. The art could be better and the anatomy needs help, but I think you are getting there. Keep drawing and honing your skills and you will get better and better. Practice is the key here. Understanding the way your hand and pressure are used to shape and create form is very important, and the only way to do it is to observe and DRAW and DRAW.

Anyways.... hope this helped psi :]

Ahh yes, the line problem. It's not because i decided where the line should go while drawing it, it's simply cause i draw on 350% zoomed in and most of the wiggly lines means that i reached the end of the screen while drawing lmao. That's why i had to start a new one. I know this isn't the only thing you talked about and thanks a lot, i will keep that stuff in mind!

Aahahhaha, yeah. I always sucked and always will suck at anatomy, i guess. Unless i would actually try to learn it or practice it. This was the first thing i drew in about 2 months (which is weird cause it's better than anything else I have ever drawn so far i guess!). This little V-Crack on the buttface is supposed to be the butt bone but it turned out a little too huge. Without that it wouldn't really look like an ass at all.

Yeah thanks a lot. Colors seem to be the only thing i know how to use well. Without the color/shading those would probably look twice as bad. And yeah, i noticed that light-source thing, which i usually do, when i was shading the maid. It comes from all over the place and looks kind of messy.

Haha yeah. I don't know, i drew the froslass because with just 2 of those drawings it looked kind of empty in the collective picture. I didn't spend too much time on that, should've probably spent more. Also, i tried to make Ampharos not look like it has down syndrom, which in the original pokemon design, it does.

Thanks a lot! And yeah it did help quite a bit. I don't draw very often so criticism helps me quite a bit to improve faster without drawing too much lmao.

And sasha, thanks a lot to you, too. Can't tell if that is sarcastic or not but if it ain't, love ya, too!

emanhattan

you need to work a bit more on your shading.... Adding bubbles of diferent tones of color in each separate part of the body doesnt really work.

Try to define a light source first and stick to it. remember, the lighter colors dont always have to be in the middle of the part you are filling. it should be the one that is closer to the light source. Keep shadows in mind as well. Think for yourself "if a light hits me coming from this side, where would the shadows of my head/clothing/etc fall".

shura

lmao no i wasn't being sarcastic, its hilarious

lenko

what eman said. you're basically shading for the sake of detail at the mo. i think the biggest use of this is on ASS

even on pokemon's somewhat simple illustrations, there's always a defined light source with definite shadow and highlights. doing this gives your characters more volume in general.

lmao i can't stop laughing at that fucking ampharos though

also psi to get smoother long lines try moving your entire arm when drawing
<emanhattan> i remember pingu ice cream
<emanhattan> it was a better time
<emanhattan> when the penguins were cold and delicious
<emanhattan> and i knew i was gonna be
<emanhattan> consequence free

lmfao as i said i know about that shading stuff i just didn't really apply it for reasons that are even unknown to me.

Also, as i said before, the reason why most of the long lines are breaking is because I drew them at 350% zoomed in and it was the end of the screen there. Thanks a bunch tho!

I looked at that imagine thinking "wheres the nose!?"
then I looked REALLY closely and saw the 4 pixels under the eye made to represent the whole thing.
>:I

CVG covered most of what I'd suggest. Don't lose hope on anatomy. It's taking a long time for me to get used to and study it too. Nice work.

retrosmash

I looked at that imagine
