comcast can go well over 30mbit but they purposely choke speeds based on what "plan" you buy. the max i can get here is 12mbit

comcast has a download cap but it's something ridiculously high

they have the resources to create a high speed network they just choose to keep prices high for mediocre internet+cable to maximize their profits

i actually wouldn't mind google coming to my town and setting up this fiber optic network, not like i'm any more vulnerable to having my packets inspected with google than i was with comcast and their torrent throttling
