Blur options and gradients

So I know that sometimes using a blur and stuff in a background or lots of gradients can make flash laggy as hell. but I heard that if you just export the image as a .png and then use that as a background that you get no lag, but outlines get messed up or some shit.

I don't have flash for a few days until I put my computer together, so I haven't had an opportunity to test any of this.

someone want to test this for me, or just tell me if it works.

i don't like to use blurs in flash i think they look really bad. if you just need to blur a background you might as well turn it into a raster image and throw it back there to save a lot of processing time. it will look fine if you turn on 'allow smoothing' for images that you import in the library.

Yeah, I have no Idea how to turn it into a rastered image.

If you mean it destroys outlines as in lines do not use lines in flash because they do not transform thickness, instead convert the lines to fills under the shape options.

modify>shape>convert lines to fills
