saw it last night (in eye-popping 2D!!!!!!!!!!!) it's too early for me to say where i think it ranks in pixar and toy story films. it was pretty apparent for the first 30-40 minutes that they were trying to make you feel as bad as humanly possible for the toys to the point where it's downright depressing, sometimes in the cheapest of ways. then the 2nd half makes your heart race non-stop. although there are a ton of laughs throughout it, it's definitely the darkest of the 3. though the ending was everything you could want, and hell, they even left it open for a 4th. but i sincerely doubt they will ever make a 4th toy story. they can leave it the way it is now. hell, they could have left it at 2. but that's not to say that toy story 3 was an excellent film, because it was.

oh yeah, and the short at the beginning was incredible. it was beautifully simplistic but so complexly brilliant. i also think it has a great message, especially for americans in general.

3. The homophobia against Ken (like the character that said, "Yeech!" when he thought Ken was in high heels, the constant jokes about his ascot or wearing Barbie's scarf, his handwriting in the closing credits, etc.) was bigoted, especially from Disney, of all places.

4. The sexism (cowgirl Jessie did nothing while the male characters did all the exciting stuff, Buzz called Barbie "toots", the villains called Ken a "girl's toy" as if it was a bad thing).

The movie was amazing, there's not a single thing I could say that would be even remotely negative towards it. I've never felt so much emotion from a kid's movie, or for that matter a lot of movies before. Goddamn it, I've never been swept from a surprisingly huge dose of suspense to trying my damnedest not to cry so quickly before. It was a fucking great movie, great ending ffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
