Quote from: psi43oh wow really

i've seen it like ages ago, could've sworn it was disney.

It might has well have been Disney. The guy in charge (Don Bluth) was pretty high up in Walt Disney Productions (trained by the 9 Old Men) when he left Disney

...to make Land Before Time...

Anyways, Princess and the Frog is awesome. First princess movie I've ever seen where I don't feel like my intelligence is being insulted.

XD 1:00 'til the end of that li'l video clip. I couldn't stop laughing for a while after seeing that today in the theater.

I lurve the movie~ I pretty much like all of the characters and methinks the story is solid alright~ I have to agree that there wasn't quite enough Dr. Facilier though.

ok so I just came home from watching it using my sisters kid as an excuse to join the fun

Dr facilier was really great! I love that design of that villian. and How his shadow kinda reflects his emotions at times. His musical number was fucking cash

Its a sad thing that the rest of the characters are not as fun/interesting BUT the frogs naveen and tiana were really cute. I didnt like lou the crocodile, there I said it. its like the typpical "goofy" character who makes funny shit but that isnt always funny and probably the movie could have existed without him.

My sister and bro didnt like it a lot because they dont think it was as cute as older disney movies. I for one think all you need to enjoy it is a bit of an open mind and simply the mood necessary to enjoy it. It was cute. had its funny parts, had its cliches.

overall id say

80/100

I liked it. but I wish I had liked it a lot more. never the less I think the real success of the movie is that it will help a lot of people realize 2d animation is not dead

also my favorite part of the movie is the scene with the (50´s...?) stylized art.

The Good Ole Ant

2d isn't dead, it just smells funny

it wasn't their best film but it was in the spirit of disney classics. i loved the music, the animation, the layouts, pretty much everything. great stylistic bit when she's singing about the restaurant, too. dr facilier and his 'friends on the other side', great villain. he was genuinely evil which is nice to see

i know

but it was nice as the theater was not COMPLETELY full of screaming children

this is the exact scene that goldberg previewed at ottowa. I was ecstatic for the production but for some reason haven't gotten to seeing it.
