Recent animation tests

Some animations I did... today!
Plus they're gifs because I'm a very stupid person and don't care about anything at all.

Gwen magicks all up on a cat. Some effect animation for my final (I need to add some recoiling frames for her... plus the cat will still be there after the smoke clears (but a hat)) Look at the way the smoke looks, not at her.


Walk cycle I did because I was bored. This may be a character in my advanced animation final but that's still a few years away. An exercise in overlapping action?


This is Regi, a robot who hangs with Gwen and he and she fight the bad guys together? He wants to shoot the cat. He's saying, "Do you want me to shoot him?"

If recoiling frames are what you call what I think they are, I agree that the Gwen animation could use 'em.

Animation... that's what I need to do. Thank you for the inspiration Gregly. When i was 10, i use to make animations on stacks of post-it notes. Maybe I still have it in me.

his hand is turning into a weapon? it's not that hard to tell.

I don't really like the first one, it's kinda fast, the second and third ones are amazing though.

I can tell by the weapon that comes out in the end, but there's a lot of strange, unclear stuff going on to make it come out. It looks like more than a gun's coming out. Maybe if he did it on 1s it would look a little clearer in how the guy comes out.

no it's actually pretty clear that the metal arm is opening up, the hand goes in and the barrels of the minigun come out

im talking about the detail he pulls on the forearm as it comes up. It just has me expecting more than a cannon because I see more than just an arm opening. It becomes clearer that it's a gun when he finishes the transformation, but there is confusion mid-way even as I re-watch it several times.
Even if I'm being dumb, it was unclear to me, which is a valid thing to note to be helpful.

Oh! I think it's a smear! Like, a split-second of wonky shape-ness that makes the animation more fluid instead of tweeny-stiff-puppet-like!
