the tarantula you described is probably a trapdoor spider
it's hard to tell honestly unless you take a good look at its eyes or spinnerets
i know its not a tarantula because it lacks urticating hairs, or any other apparent hairs for that matter, trapdoors are just naturally glossy

That's cool~ They're pretty neat (once I get over the initial shock)~ I was impressed when I learned that they utilized many different kinds of silks according to what they wanted to do and by golly they do a ton of things to catch their prey, among other things. Not to mention that according to my Portuguese friend, to call someone a spider in their country is a compliment: It means that they can do all sorts of things, like a Jack-of-All-Trades.

Awww... I'll do what I can, but I'm still gonna take my time. You don't want a sloppy, rushed job. Trust me.

Whooooaaaa... That's pretty neat! It even looks like the one on the Wiki article! And now I learn that it's actually a trapdoor spider. I wasn't able to get a too good of a look at her eyes, but I was able to see her spinnerets. In my opinion they were pretty long, once you compare them to her legs. About half the size of my pinky finger, or a third or half the size of one of her legs.

Dude, you're making me want to take more pictures of spiders in my area since I find many different kinds every single time I head out to the archery range.
