Some characters for a story i've had in my head for about 10 years now (its changed significantly over the past decade but the main plot remains the same-ish). everything is in very early stages at the mo, so i'll be changing pretty much everything. suggestions welcome

its a really 'pulp' sci-fi road trip with robots and space vampires with a bit of british gangster film thrown in, and it centres on a rag-tag bunch of wannabe gangsters gettin into dirty deals and eatin dirty meals as they hope to become the most feared space criminals in history or whatever. how i'll actually tell this story is undecided, though i think a comic would be pretty cool, or little 4-minute flashes. i tend to revisit the concept only a couple of times a year so i want to get it fleshed out now.

isaac is the typical lenko character looking fella and the leader. he's extremely lazy and a chronic gambler, as well as shallow (especially when it comes to music), pretentious, apathetic (cept if its about music) and selfish. before he joined the crew he lived for a few years in technical solitude (as in he knew people but didn't really regard anyone as a friend) despite these horrible character traits he is the only person who can actually tell a crew what to do as well as pilot a ship. in typical cliche'd manner he gets nicer as the story goes on.

novue is the chick. she dislikes isaac heavily and is the widow of the team's former leader (who appears in the first arc of the story and is promptly eaten by a sand worm thing). despite being somewhat highly strung she does look after the rest of the crew and is easily their best melee combatant. she uses a shark-shaped sword when fighting which is pretty coola

gecko is isaac's 'best friend' and the resident alien/lizard. he's not modelled after any specific lizard, but he can change colours chameleon style and has a sticky tongue too. gecko is extremely angry nearly all the time and is probably the most 'hardcore' of the lot. he is notable for not actually having a job in the team (he just sort of hangs around) and beating the shit out of nearly everything he disagrees with. when gecko isn't angry he usually picks on isaac.

hunky doris is the most comedic member and is some sort of chef-robot. if you've ever seen any of my cartoons then this guy has a very similar voice and personality to Dr. Mocha. doris doesn't hesitate to teaste/wind up his peers and often plays childish pranks or makes offbeat remarks. he is also a broken 'product' so he is also shit at cooking. he will make this face a lot

cassie, the smallest and youngest member, is the marksman. despite his ridiculous talents he is a cowardly, spineless, hyperactive kid and often lets his nerves get the better of him. i imagine him acting a little bit like tweek from south park except not as annoying

As for your plot, what's your motley crew of to-be space criminals up against? Is there any space law enforcement? Do they end up facing space criminals (either of the organized crime or deadly space pirate sort) that know that they're a bunch of wannabes who end up exploiting them ("Whoa! This is our big break!"), leading to your band of buddies whooping ass by turning the tables? 'Cause if that ends up being the inciting incident and the said criminals aren't complete pushovers, it might lead to the protagonists getting themselves into different situations and such, like other criminals (and possible other parties) giving a darn. Of course, the drawback to this formula is that it's probably been done hundreds of times already.

as for the main plot i have no real idea yet apart from its envisioned as a 'road trip' and will be pretty episodic. what the characters are striving to reach at this moment in time i havent figured out yet

The only thing I see somewhat awkward after a decent while of looking is the girl's right arm. The twig seems a bit skinny to be held by two hands and I don't see evidence of the other arm's grip. If it's the pose of the right hand behind the arm then I'd pose it differently. =)

I really like it though. It's very nice.
