How the hell would I pull off subtitles while using V-cam? This movie I'm working on currently is the first I've ever used V-cam for, but I want to make subtitles an option since there's kind of a vast array of different dialects (Hood-rich, British, Canadian)

I warned you, stupid.

rtil

with actionscript

that\\\'s about all i could tell ya

or you could make a subtitle movie clip with the same dimensions as the vcam, then copy>paste the tween movements of the vcam on the subtitles movieclip

but that could be messy

var subtitles:Boolean;
subtitles = false;
subButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, subC);
function subC(evt:MouseEvent):void{
    if(subtitles == true){
        subtitles = false;
        subtitles_mc.visible = false;
    }else{
        subtitles = true;
        subtitles_mc.visible = true;
    }
}

subButton is your button that toggles it.

subtitles_mc is your subtitles movieclip.

Oh, and this is all in as3.

This is how I do it.

Once the entire movie is finished,cut all the frames INCLUDING THE ONE WITH THE VCAM and paste all that shit into a movie clip.

then place that movie clip in a frame and create a new frame over the frame with the movie clip. this new frame should include the subtitles.

most of the time the vcam will only affect whats inside that movie clip and nothing else. try it out!

You can download a new vcam for as3 that doesn't fuck with your buttons, etc.

nah that won\\\'t work, the vcam stops functioning once it leaves the main timeline. you need a modified vcam for it to work within an MC

but then again i usually use the adam phillips 2005 vcam, i didnt even know there was an AS3 version. maybe that one will work.

why the fuck hasnt adobe just made a damn camera tool within the program? with built in parallax like after effects?

didn't we play around with that a few months ago
like, it was kinda hard to use

i dont know if it was you but im sure i talked to someone about it, then decompiled it and tried to use it.

f0d

i dont know maybe. i did decompile it and found out how they got the parallax effect, it was a code where you applied different numbers to different symbols causing them to move slower accordingly. forgot to save it though.

if someone here knows code really well we should make an all purpose new version of the vcam and post it on anipedia or something. we could implement rotation, skew, parallax, the ability to use it within movieclips, etc. in other words all the stuff that adam phillips' guy has been too lazy to implement into the original VCAM.

Well the problem with doing a circle is like it is in HTML.

Pixels are squares, so you're not going to get an exact measurement.

But I think it would be cool to try out.

Emanhattan's trick always worked for me, but I have Flash 8...if that even makes a difference.
