i was wondering what the best program for making things like logos, fonts and stuff would be. Clear-cut, almost 'corporate' stuff like this

I'm guessing illustrator?

<emanhattan> it was a better time
<emanhattan> when the penguins were cold and delicious
<emanhattan> and i knew i was gonna be
<emanhattan> consequence free

Flash

illustrator and photoshop
I don't recommend trying to do things like that in only one program since it's all about the details

im not a big illustrator fan, i honestly have an easier time designing stuff like that in flash then touching it up in photoshop

but i guess if you know how to use illustrator its nice because of the extensive blending options and what not

vector software for sure. I've actually never used Illustrator, and don't know much about it, but Flash is sufficient for all my needs

Yeah, I'll agree with ansel.

Also, I was too stupid to figure out illustrator.. maybe if I took more time.... meh.

Vector art is the next best thing to original pixel art. :3
No.

Yeah, ansel is totally right. You probably just need flash unless you're doing really professional stuff, in which case you want illustrator. Creating vector images is very important though.

most importantly for me would be the gradient masking.

Personally i never used illustrator but i know that it has gradient masking and this is something I always wanted flash to have

f0d

but photoshop has gradient masks and anything you do in photoshop can be easily ported into flash

ya guess not but still theres gotta be more than just that. is illustrator really worth learning because the only way ive even been able to use it properly was by drawing all the vectors in flash and porting them into illustrator

you have to do a lot of shit with the pen tool as far as i know.

it's not really worth learning i think because it barely offers anything more than what flash offers. You can work a lot faster with it though.

it's like flash with a layer/filter/blender system of photoshop, but that's just extremely simply put

ansel

yesterday I had to use illustrator to edit some lineart I did in Flash

I couldn't draw a line or copy and paste anything or dffdghgggffggf
