I think both would be asking too much though...but would be impressive and isn't ahead of it's time

uhh you can always set the wallpapers to transition at different times fo every 8 hours it coud change.

i actually did that in the menu for my demo reel dvd, it looked really cool. maybe i'll do that. i didn't know about mpg backgrounds

The only reson why I mentioned .mpg was because it seemed to be the most universal format (my OS also supports .wmv). I dont know about what formats are supported for video wallpaper on the Mac(Im guessing those also support .mpgs), and so far only Windows Vista Ultimate is Microsoft's OS that offically supports video wallpaper (everyone else can simply come over here and download a patch I found over the web).
