major update and another one coming later tonight hopefully.

here's what's new:

• since there are over 1,000 files now, i decided it was time to start adding pages of files. there are 100 items per page. still sortable by name, size and description & maintains your search options no matter what page you're on.
• the statistic "average uploads per month" is actually correct now
• the uploader now logs your IP. this is to keep track of and blacklist people who upload files that are not allowed (porn/shock images, etc).
• minor cosmetic changes
• added "total uptime" in a total of days as a new statistic. today is day #524 of the public uploader
  
  to-do:
• search files per your IP: this can help you locate files you've uploaded in the past based on your IP. this will not work for dynamic IP's. i will look into trying to do it based on cookies but that's probably even less reliable than IP. most people have static IP's so this seems like a more tangible idea. it will not work on old files, only new ones (unless i can find a way to extract that data and put them in the tables).

psi brought up a good idea for a new feature: tags. when i add the search function i'll be adding an option to tag your file. if it's not given a custom tag by you it will be auto-tagged based on what kind of document it is. older submissions will also be auto-tagged.

major update: the public files are finally searchable. you can search by name, extension, tag, IP and size

searching multiple fields will narrow down the results, unless sometimes searching by name & tag. i will try to fix this

i'm not aware of any other bugs at the moment, but please help me out and test it to your hearts content

if you run into any issues let me know. i've spend all day coding it and i'm sure i've missed many things. suggestions are welcome as well !

files uploaded now have a unique 6-number/letter combination put at the beginning of them. so now you don't have to worry about uploading a file and saying "it already exists"

when you click on a file it will take you to a preview page. no more SWF's stretching to the entire size of your browser. SWF's now have proper previews with important file information and a download link. images will display on the page as well. all other file types currently have only a download link. i will probably work on an audio preview in the future.

tomorrow i will be coding a feature for reporting malicious files

a report function has been added. for malicious/inappropriate/duplicate/unneeded files/other. someday this might morph into a user-based system, but i think the tag search feature should serve you guys well for finding files, and now if you really need something deleted i can look into it.
