he has this dark and twisted sense of humor that's kind of addicting

"Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy" was a fun read too
and "The Great Gatsby"

"America is in the Heart" is also a fantastic book! It's kinda like "The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair, except it has more gambling, drugs, sex and violence in it. The author has a really wonderful writing style as well

I'm reading quite a few books in my Science Fiction class in school.

So far, we read The Road by Cormack McCarthy (wrote No Country For Old Men) which was a big book with a whole lot of nothing.
Then we read Anthem by Ayn Rand which started out relatively interesting and then within fifty pages succumbed to "THESE ARE THE AUTHORS PHILOSOPHICAL VIEWS" and the book basically spent 105 pages to get to the words "I" and "ego".

Up next is Cat's Cradle, and I've heard many good things about Kurt Vonnegut (but I, unfortunately, never got around to reading his books myself), so hopefully that'll b cool.

One author whose books I enjoy a great deal are David Sedaris.  I've read Me Talk Pretty One Day by him, which was hilarious, and then I read When You Are Engulfed In Flames, which was also hilarious.  Right now I'm starting Dress Your Family In Corduroy and Denim.
All of his books are basically collections of humorous essays on whatever.  They're a style I seem to enjoy more than straight up novels and stuff, which is weird.  I dunno, I enjoy reading a guy's humorous essays about parts of life that suck than I do about some character in some strange land I have or haven't been to before.

I like how everyone is listing books that are mandatory reads in High School and College. xD I'll give my support too that some of the books were really fun to read, but Animal Farm was horrible... anyways, my list.

Howl's Moving Castle- I found it to be much more enjoyable then the movie. The movie was beautiful, but the character development was a lot better in the book.

The Red Dwarf books are a great read, also anything by John O'Farrel, the guy writes some hilariously good stories and puts some funny spins on actual facts, some of my favourites by him:
