The ending's fucking awful but it's a pretty fun series.

kind of a letdown if you're expecting a direct continuation of dark knight returns but I loved the artwork and I thought it was great as a standalone comic

OHH BOY A THRED WHERE I CAN SHOW MY INCREDIBLE NERDINESS
Well lets see

all of hellboy is really good also the BRPD spinoff

The incal, really REALLY good art by moebius and written by Alejandro Jorodowsky from El Topo.
Also if you have a chance pick anything by moebius, hes one of my favorite comic artist.

Groo, I just love this comic, its funny and has some clever stories, and the cartoony art really goes along with the humor.

Hey, wich better way to understand comics than a comic itself. It gives good advice on how comics work and how they can be used, I enjoyed it alot becouse it's realy clever and gives me good standing point to defend comics.

The best freaking zombie comic I have ever read, better than many zombie mmovies I've seen(not that that's hard to do.
also I think there's a mini-series coming out.

Anything written by this dude right here

What if superman was a commie

Its really good.

Horror sci-fi at it's best

The stylized art and the 50s style is what did this for me

Punisher Max. Realistic Punisher, tends to be to violent at times, very fun read.

Also most of what vertigo publishes. Not all is good but the vast majority is.
I didnt mention alot of things becouse they were already mentioned or I dont remember now.
Also fuck Scott Pilgrim in the ass

Oh hey, a comic thread.

MarcK

I just read the Watchmen, V for Vendetta, From Hell, Scott Pilgrim 1-5, Asterios Polyp, and I'm now reading bone. I haven't read much of Batman but I have read the Dark Knight Returns and a neat and beautifully painted Dave McKean/Neil Gaiman book which is apparently a branch off of batman:

but I should be getting to reading more of it because it looks neat. Especially arkane asylum.

Also league of extraordinary gentlemen looks great but I think I should read the books these characters come from before reading that just to understand the book more fully.

The one's I've read I'd recommend to anyone. The alan moore books were just beautifully crafted stories that were still completely great reads even after having seen both of their corresponding movies.

It was really fun surreal book but it wasn't super horrific. I just read it and I liked it.

I was close to buying stuff of legend. I know the art looks great but I haven't heard anything about the writing.

Since this thread is still alive I think ill keep posting shit.
Recently I have been reading lots of fantasy and scifi comics for some raisin

The darkhorse run on conan has been pretty good

The Mercenary, this shit is crazy. It ha gorgeous hand-painted art and really cool fantasy stories sometimes with sci-fi elements, its kinda hard to find in english but still really good.

One of mignola's earliest works, I love this comic.

Nikopol, this comic is just bizarre, It has really good art as most french comics have and a weird sense of humor. There also was a crappy movie some years ago.

Mouse Guard, the stories in these books are normally really simple, it has kind of a stadard fantasy setting but with mouses it has nice art and i like the designs.

Warren Ellis wrote a couple of really good sci-fi stories

Ocean, this one is about a station on the europa moon that discovers an ancient civilisation under the ice

Orbiter, I like this one more, its about a spacecraft that was lost in space for years and then returns to earth all changed up.

Switchblade Honey, basically Ellis' interpretation of star treck

This is the best post-apocalyptic comic that I've seen, not that there's many competition for that place.

This shit is just crazy , I love how this artist has really detailed art and each page is completely crammed up with things happening all over the place. He also did Hard Boiled for Frank Miller wich is similar to this comic with the frantic storytelling and crazy shit happening every second.

I have much more to post but I think I already posted too much right now so
That's all for now folks.

slantedskarekrow

wasteland looks pretty cool, actually thanks to this thread I've got a lot of stuff to keep an eye out for.
