Her mouth is fucked up. Do it again!

try to avoid using outlines on lips. the best way to color lips cel-shaded is to do fill the top one, then use a small shape to suggest a shadow underneath the second. or, you can fill the bottom lip with a lighter color than the top. just don't use lines - they're ugly and i've never seen otherwise

GRINACE

Okay ill redo this one whe I get the chance. One question, i perfer the sketch over my halfassed cellshade, hows the sketch in your opinion?

shura

the sketch looks a lot better. i think its because the lines look really smooth and quick and have varying darkness and thicknesses. the lines in the celshade stay the same throughout which just doesn't look good. if your tablet has pen sensitivity you should use it

jjjjjjjjjj

the sketch is really nic but use your lines on your finished work oy vey work on those they are ugly

why didn't you finish drawing the fat and old dude? they look really half assed
your male characters are still all clad in gangster clothing. i think your girls are looking really good tho
the lizard looks great but all you drew was the head. i like how the clothing you make is super-intricate, but it doesn't seem like you dedicate much of your time to anything else. plus we keep seeing these same characters over and over and over again
basically, just spend more time trying new shit

I cant explain that to be honest.

@ sasha, okay.

im upset that i keep on doing these pics at a very high zoom so it ends out small.[attachment=3140:for_demi.png]

kudos for not outlining the nose, i hate when people do that. i think it's a good start, but the values are pretty flat even though there's shading. if you want the focus of your piece to be the lighting/shading, be more bold with your tones. use lighter lights and darker darks. really show the volume of the face with the lighting. in the digital world you have an unlimited amount of color on your palette - use it to your advantage.

lenko

thats def an improvement

grin if you still want to pack a lot of detail in whilst having a decent sized image why not up the DPI/resolution to something like 300

Lenka, the Dpi was at 300, its cause I end up in a high zoom like 400% when I started it. This intentionaly was a cartoon/anime style when I first drew it. Once I got to shading, it became a whole other picture.
