jazz, have you ever experimented with a more curvy, edge-defined style than the one you work with now, which i notice is very rubbery and loose looking... not that thats a bad thing, but i would like to see what a few of your characters look like with more solid curvature

i know what you mean, but I like having it that way. traditional human anatomy structure is boring to me, i like blackaroni. (Which i think i'll forever call my style from now on thanks to sashura) my anatomy probably isn't appealing now, but as I work on my style it'll improve over time. thanks for the input though

That's probably because you've been conditioned to think flashy, filters, etc are good, when it fact they are bad. That second drawing is plain, simple and features very solid and strong construction with great line weight and sensitivity. She looks ready to move at any second and there is a load believability to her expression and pose. Looks perfect to animate.

the guy in the middle looks great though love the exaggerated perspective

Yeah i hear you guys, my perspective needs serious practice, that's why I'm starting to make pictures like this so that I can get the hang of it. It's relatively simple for a shapeless 12-year-old boy like the one in the red hoodie, but I struggled with the girl.
