WikiFlash - we need a new name.

i originally intended this to be specifically geared towards animators. while still artists are welcomed, they will not be allowed to make their own profile pages, and they won't have a lot of articles to gather infromation from. animation is enough in itself to dedicate a wiki to, and i have a lot of ideas for the articles.

the flash community will only be a part of it. it's dedicated to animators in a  broad sense, whether or not they use the software. there will be pages dedicated to truly famous animators like Tex Avery and Chuck Jones, an extended history of animation and the way animation works.

Here is how I have laid out the site in terms of categories:

  This should be enough to chew for a start of a website. each category or subcategory can hold an unlimited amount of articles. sound adequate?
  
  also, wikimation is probably my choice for new name.
  
  although wikimation is being used by two other sites, but they're not copyrighted. so neither is the name. we'll just become the most popular one, then.

Seems like a solid layout for the wiki content.
And the good thing about Wiki is that you can add more categories to it, and cross link articles to multiple categories.

Haha, makes me wish I had the motivation to animate.

Shame you guys weren't making a wiki about Photoshop.  At least I'd have have been of some help. =P

Edit: so will you be doing research/making pages for animators from the anime/game side of things?

So there's a possibility that you'll even cover animated works, on a name to name detailed basis?  If that was so, this project would open up to an encyclopaedia on shows as well as the animators behind them.  And what about still artists that the animators rely on, for their creative designs and such?

i already plan to cover animated works and famous animators. not full casts.
if the artist is significant in the world or industry, i'd like them to have a page.
keep in mind animators do a lot of still work as well.

I'm aware of that.  I was just saying that in some cases, an illustrator's work is brought to life through an animator's partnership.

I wouldn't want Anigen to be a mod. Not because he wouldn't do a good job, I like Anigen and I'd trust him, but he wouldn't stop gloating about being a mod here.
