i didn't know what i was talking about and was an asshole.
so i take back all of this as it no longer represents me.

If it was mine I wouldn't let it be where it is.  But that's not the issue, and Tom isn't a bad person, he just cares about the userbase to much.

yeah tom is a nice fellow

but i personally feel like he and the rest of the staff are lying to themselves about who their site appeals to and who uses it. if tom spent a couple days just browsing around on the bbs, reading newsposts, watching shit in the portal, i'm sure he'd be feeling a lot less nice and a lot more angry about what a monster he's created

him and the staff to have a very overly optimistic view of the range of NG's appeal. shit, they even made the motto of the new-newgrounds "everything by everyone" as if to say "hey regardless of how much mindless anime or game related garbage we put on the front page, we swear we really are trying to market to people outside our 13-18 yr old tech savvy male demographic! really!"

all of the recent changes he has made to the site are well intentioned, but they make NG feel so commercial and unappealing, its not even worth visiting anymore. i haven't watched a front page flash in months. which sucks because im sure tom has put some good flash up there that ive missed, he always does. i just don't like to sort through the garbage to find the good shit

an art portal and lit portal will just make things even worse in that regard because art and lit people who go to newgrounds currently get their art and lit fix from the NGBBS, and consequently, are faggots
I have more of a life writing this review at 1145 pm than you guys do making these movies. . .

what NG should do is split the portal in 2 and have parodies and sprite flashes submitted to one portal and actual original and good flash to another. It'll keep the faggot users away from the people who can actually draw.


or he could make it so the collection pages are updated more often and not only include frontpage flashes.

Actually the chatroom might draw people away from the BBS, IE the faggots in desperate need of social contact, and just MIGHT make the BBS a better place.

Then again my ass might sprout wings and fly me to the fucking moon because the BBS is perpetual shit.

they're too lazy even to remove the submission page... I tried to make an alpha a long time ago, cause I didn't know it was broken, and I spent like an hour filling out those damn fields and then it didn't work
