I used to animate madness.  After you get the hang of it, it is easy.  Its all about placement and having an eye for movement.  Its pretty much the same as animating with sprites (which I refuse to do).

Drawing all his own shit may add credibility to his work unlike the imitators, but I found the characters and art is designed for ease of use.  It sounds a little silly but designing your own body forms on the madness template is REALLY hard.  I don't want to go into detail and sound like a fag but the various body parts and dimensions are made to be interchangable and easy to manipulate.

The only thing I truly appreciate is how fast he animates, but I guess that comes from practice with the same style.
