Might be my internet connection, it doesn't allow steam to work unless plugged into ethernet, and when on ethernet it requires a gay anti-virus program with bugs up the ass.  I'll look into a connection, I've been looking at my firewall and anti-virus settings, re-installed java, but ts most likely the internet system where I am.

In fact I haven't gotten steam to work on ethernet for a while.

Internet is the school, labelled a VCUnet.  Not sure what exact provider runs it though, I THINK verizon.

But the anti-virus I hear is new this year, and even the tech people barely know how to handle it.  Its called Cisco Clean access agent, if that means anything to you.  In fact, using the wireless is a stronger and more dependable signal, strangely enough.

Worked a while ago, stopped working like a week after I joined.

if it times out it means ports 6667 and 7000 are being blocked

you could try configuring tor to use it but that might not make a difference

Both of those wont work, but I haven't tried tor.  I uninstalled it a while ago, but it only takes about five minutes to get set back up on opera, because pumping it through Mirc would probably be pretty ehhhh, "un-easy", considering I still haven't gotten the hang of it without extra features.  I'll try that either tomorrow or later tonight.
