Alright so for awhile now, I havent been able to import .avi video files into flash. Flash isn't letting me encode the video. The weird thing is not long ago, I used to have no problem importing them. I think I may have deleted something importent...a codec or something.

Ive already downloaded Divx, Xvid, and Quicktime and the same problem occurs. Anyone know what is goin on here?

Wade is not gay, read his profile! It's sad that you would use sexual orientation as a joke, shows that you have no real sense of humor.

download a program called gspot
open the video you are importing in gspot. it will give you all the codec information about it that you need to know
then you can download and match the corresponding codecs

Dagolith

i wouldn't Google that if i were you.

Okay so I did the G-Spot thing and it says I have the Codec's installed, but the same problem is there.

When I import the video, there are two "notes" that come up that usually dont.

The first note is "The codec in the file you are importing does not support editing"

And the second note is "No supported audio track was detected"

The movies play in Windows media player but only in windows media. I cant seem to import them into flash. The weird thing is that I was able to import these same files not long ago. Is there any other help maybe?

open them in windows movie maker and save them as a .wmv and then try again

video conversion to other formats sounds like the only option at this point. this is beyond the issues of flash itself, it's driver stuff.

CoolDrMoney

Yea I did that but it raised the file size exponentially.

I just ended up streaming the video off our site...works fine now...Just wish I knew what the problem was

Anyway thanks for the help gus

i'd have to be there to really see. video codecs can be messy sometimes because there are so many of them.
