I'm quite partial to cats.

I like cats because no offense but they are pretty basic and for lack of a better word, dumb. I say for lack of a better word because while they may be smart at hunting and catching, they arn't to bright when they see a string swinging in the air from a ceiling fan and then wonder why they got thrown to the wall by the string. It's allways entertaining to watch though.

What about a Dachshund? Would it kill a robber?

When I had two cats they attacked and scared off a bulldog that got into our backyard.

Cats because i'm a furry faggot

I have a dog, but I'd rather have a cat. I have to take a walk with my dog like everyday, sucks.

How come you make sooo many strange threads, T-Bones?

Rainier

Dogs, but not too many of them.  Unfortunately that's what I have to live with, but at least they're small ones.

Cat's are okay though.  I just dislike them for killing off the native wildlife.

Birds and squirrels? Rabbits? It's not like they're systematically killing the Spotted Owl. And quite often there is already little wildlife where people live.

i want a cat, but my dad is allergic and dislikes that they kill off birds and wildlife.
my dad wants a dog, but my mom hates all animals and everyone denies that fact.
my mom wants perfect children; a typical asian mom dream that will never happen.
we used to have rabbits, but our hutch was home-made and started to fall apart, and they hated us anyways and liked biting me.
my sister is obsessed with getting a pet, but her constant whining isn't helping.

I'm never going to have a decent pet.

even if there's no hope, I'm trying to save Danny Phantom anyway.
screw Nick and the sponge that is sucking the brains out of our nation's children.

in a recint study, dog's, if their owner is in danger, or hurt, the dog will ither run away, or just sit there and look at you. all that lassy saveing timmy in the well is realy just hype. besides cats are SO easy to take care of. and if cats are stupid for chaseing a string, then dogs are stupid for pulling on a rope being persented to them, it's just playing.

I do not intend to start a cats vs. dogs type of discussion here, but I'm partial to dogs.  My cousin has a Yorkshire terrier that sticks by his side as if he were practically glued to him.  He may not be the brightest but we love the little guy anyway.

I did have a cat at one time, this little stray kitten that wandered into our garden and nibbled on our family's rose garden.    We used to get him fat by throwing him some leftover table scraps, the cute little bast got fatter every week he stopped by.  One day he wandered into the street and that was the last we saw of him.

Were these dogs trained? Where are the statistics? Who was tested? How long were the dogs with the owner? How did they test?

Because I assure you those statistics are very misleading. I have had many dogs that would have died to protect me.
1) A Bichon Frise- She loved me and would let no one ever try to strike me, she would bite them and then growl as well as to stand in front of me. Many times I have hurt myself and heard my dog running towards me and growling while looking for a threat. She was soo protective that my parents decided to put her to sleep because she would attack anyone who she considered a threat to me (strangers that got to close or made sudden moves). It was very sad for me, I loved that dog.
2) German Shephard- He was our family dog, we had him while my Bichon Frise was still with us, One Rockwiller (however you spell it) and a bull dog were attacking my bichon Frise, my Father ran towards them and immediatly began to take on the dogs to save mine (He was a special forces soldier, shortly after leaving the military he was diagnosed with diabetes for those of you that don't know if your Blood Glucose goes too high or too low you start to lose feeling, my dad was high and was able to ignore the pain of the dogs bites). Anyway, when my German Shephard saw my dad getting attacked by two dogs he ran to join in the fight...
They all were injured but ok.
A week later, the owner of the two dogs (after we had them put to sleep because they kept tresspassing and trying to hurt our dogs), poisoned my German Shephard with a poisoned treat.

My friends have also had cases like these with thier dogs. Both those dogs would have given thier life for thier owners, don't tell me otherwise.

Well that's my story.
