i think to this date benjamin wigmore is the only maker of serious dramatic flash that i really love on NG. i think everyone else who tries to pull it off fails miserably by being overly sappy and maudlin. for instance, xander burgess... ugh god his flashes make me want to vomit.

the way wigmore does it though, it has real feeling and emotion. i also loved bozophilia and especially chillz story, god that was incredible. i especially love his unconventional drawing style.

Despite the fact that it was at 10 fps, I thought winter by Sherbalex was a fantastic serious serious cartoon. But I agree with f0d, me liking one is very, very rare. Probably because I don't really take anything seriously at all in the first place.

i have decided how i am going to make a list

i am going to go to the pet store and buy a bunch of gerbils. i am going to tie little switchblades to their bodies and label each one with the name of one of the nominated cartoons.

then i shall toss them into the dryer for half an hour.
at the end of the half an hour i will open the dryer. the gerbils will then be sorted according to how deep their injuries are.
the 5 with the highest injuries will be ranked, and the corresponding cartoons made onto my list.

in this fashion, i not only make a top 5 list, but i also eliminate the need to use my brain, and i rid the world of a pack of horrible vermin.

i can see no downside to this.

my top 3 are aladdin, freeland and socklops

aladdin was smooth, fast paced and creative. i admit the dinosaur thing was a bit farfetch'd but it got away with it

metroplois curcuit was fluid, fast and fun. even though it probably had less of a plot than the other two, it made up for it by having the best character animation

socklops, whilst having the most basic animation, was just hauntingly genius. the dialogue and imagination was great

Okay I just rewatched it and yea Im not sure what I was thinkin. It was actually pretty nicely animated. Except for a lot of the hair. The hair looked really jerky but other than that yea nice animation

The thing I hated about it was the whole dinosaur thing and the part where hes flashin back about all the good times they had...even though they like just met. I thought that was really corny and cliche. And also the part where its a wideshot of the city like right in the begginning. Cause the buildings look like chicken scratch except for the big one. Course Im comparin it to Metropolis Circuits backround.

These are prolly just little nitpickins though...except the dinosaur part and the corny part...that really does irk me
I think I gonna watch the rest of the nominees!

Okay so I just got done watchin em all and uhh no ones mentioned Stranger Forest! I really liked it infact I liked it more than Aladdin!

Only problem with stranger forest I had was the people looked kind of stiff (Cept the tiki dancer) but other than that I thought it was nice!

hmm i just watched story of khale for the first time and i'm surprised it wasn't nominated. i think it could have replaced quite a few of the nominees with ease. oh well, i'm sure his first episode will be even better. he did the same thing i did, a cartoon that introduced the universe and then started the actual series.
