Why were you expecting that? You um, kinda realize who was releasing this thing and making screenshots, right?

Very nice piece of work. I'll say that you're pretty good all around in most of the fields.

haha i can only imagine what kind of 3d is on furaffinity, i'm guessing most of it would not be appropriate for student work lmao

c0rn is right. i was half expecting my short to look awful too simply because i was building it in 3d. but somehow i got it the way i wanted it to look. there's still things i wanted to change but i simply ran out of time and had to start rendering. but i do believe that whne you're working in 3d there's a much higher chance it's just going to end up looking like garbage. everyone thinks pretty rendering engines can save you but it's always the animation and models that make people stumble. i've seen so many ugly 3d models and not just in the student realm but in television and theater as well. a lot of 2d design just does not work in 3d.

that's why i did something that wasn't my style in 3d. i figured if i did a robot-like character in a mechanical environment it would make sense, since 3d was originally designed for mechanical things. really when you think about it, making organic things in a workflow designed to be utilized with polygons and hard edges doesn't make any sense. yeah, you can make it work, but i wasn't really looking forward to trying to make all my models look like pixar people (which is what most of everyone else tried to do).

have you guys ever seen that one 3d program that works like clay? you mold the head into shape, apparently its a lot like making a sculpture and allows for more artistic 3d models. i forget what its called but that iraqi prodigy kid in my animation class showed me some phenomenal 3D models he made in it
I have more of a life writing this review at 1145 pm than you guys do making these movies. . .

mishkamash

that's not used in those Wallace and Gromit movies are they?
<lenko> i saw a hedgehog on the way home if i was drunk i would have yelled IM DOCTOR RRRRROBOTNIK and chased it

no those are clay

although the park brothers recently shifted to 3D in flushed away, a move which could very well kill mainstream claymation since they were the only ones doing it

rtil

it's called mudbox

and no i'm not back yet

I watched this ages ago, but I may as well say I liked it. Pretty strong work. Also Maya is a billion times better than 3DsMax because it's made by Canadians, who invented the concept of 3D KeyFrame animation, and developed the first software you could do it in. WE KNOW OUR ANIMATION, FOLKS!

Anyway, liked it well enough. Still rather see you in 2D though! I'm sure you know that, haha.
I was gone, FOR SO LONG

zbrush was the one he used

yeah he molded this really cool looking goblin head in like 2 minutes. if i ever go into 3D animation, i wanna learn how to use that

updated the page for journal and news posts. it is now located at http://www.thebackalleys.com/flash/eof.php, it's php now because i built a counter on the page to count views. it has a cookie so people can't just refresh the page and mess up the counter. the cookie lasts a minute. newgrounds really needs something like that lmao
