VCAM inside of movieclips

ooh now we're on to something

that code did reposition the stage slightly. still not centered perfectly but i think that code is what i need to fiddle with to get it right

ok i just tried adjusting actionscript. i put -172 after the width and -228 after the height. this gave me what i wanted when i exported, but only when the VCAM symbol was the exact size of the stage. if you moved the vcam around at all, it went off center again when exported.

so basically im hopelessly stuck

you really shouldn't be having all these problems. the vcam should just work, period. you might want to get the vcam extension and create a new camera through the commands menu

it works just fine if its on the main timeline.

but once the vcam is used inside of a movieclip, its hopelessly off center. i can see why, its because the center of the main stage gets reset once you're inside of a symbol. the vcam thinks its looking at the center of the main stage but its actually showing the top left corner of the movieclip as the center.
