You know what would be cool? If you could actually go into games. Like, you sit on a chair and get to put asleep with some sensors on your head, checking your brain activity. You can do pretty much everything in that game and getting hurt doesn't actually hurt a lot!

That would be so fucking cool, I'd actually start playing online games if that ever happened.

they're getting there. the technology is there, but the functionality is horrible. like, they probably could put you in some 'alternate reality', but you wouldn't be able to really control anything. they tried something like this with half life 2, and people were controlling the game with their minds. but most people couldn't do anything. those who could managed to use the physics gun to throw objects in random directions with erratic amount of power and speed

It will make me sad because I will really really really want one but when it gets so realistic that it tricks your brain into thinking you're actually there, whether or not it's cheating is debatable.
