i find the drawing really stiff

the proportions are really awkward, maybe thats considered a style but its not pleasing to the eye

could use better shading on the face

he is just standing there so yeah its stiff and boring!!!!

i dont understand the proportions thing, i just drew him really thin for no reason i guess it does look weird

i liked it better without shading but i kept it anyway

you can have a standing pose without it being boring. im not a drawing expert or anything, but i know enough to know this. his proportions aren't just strange in that he's thin, it's that his limbs contrast with one another it a displeasing manner. the shading is probably the worst part, you could easily do more than what youve done, which is simplest form of shading imo.

Well, the colors are fairly hard on the eyes, and the poor contrasting doesn't make it any better; Maybe if you had chosen some colors that actually worked together it wouldn't have been so bad. The green background really ruins the mood and takes attention away from your actual drawing... I'm really not sure if that is a good or a bad thing, to be honest, since the drawing is overly stiff and angular, as mentioned. The hair suffers alot from your drawing style, and doesn't really look like hair as much as it looks like a poor attempt at drawing a cartoon hedgehog. The facial expression is ruined by your linework, merely smoothing out lines after drawing something is a bad approach; You need to zoom in and manually tweak and adjust the lines alot to get a decent result. You definitively need to work with the basic drawing alot, and then tone down the colors more. <- FOR STARTERS

Also make sure you balance your color use, there was this INTRICATE SYSTEM for calculating exactly what % of each color you should use to achieve the best results but I forgot how it works.
