recently you may have heard that all Australian ISP comes with mandatory internet filtering, and option you can call in to turn off but is a big step in the way of global censorship. recently, major corporations involved in networking and ISP have been collaborating to work for a network-based solution to stop 'peer to peer networking'. this would include 24/7 packet-sniffing and traffic monitoring from all invididuals connected to the internet to check for copyright infringement.

this is the dumbest thing i have probably ever heard in my life. these people should know that it is impossible to stop the free flow of information, much less bootlegging and illegal copies of software, music, movies and other forms of media that can be translated to data.

pirating has existed since the beginning of man, and no one can stop it. maybe if they didn't rip people off and install rootkits on machines to protect copyrights, people would be more apt to pay money to these multi-billion dollar corporations that already control enough of our lives as it is.

Damn right you are. Users of the internet worldwide got the right to roam the net as freely as they want. Hell no i aint lettin anyone controlling my web activities. Getting tight up on our asses like that is criminal. Theyre doing this to push their stupid additional products on us easier.

I agree, the internet should in no way be taken advantaged of to make us pay for something that is already free. We're already paying for our providers damn it, why the hell should we empty our pockets some more? Reminds me of when Prince once attempted to force his fans to shut down their fansites. Silly doofus. Then another celebrity also wanted the whole internet shut down, but i dont quite remember who that was. Either way, that person can go and suck on a pineapple for all i care.

In Norway, this stateowned company called Telenor is also selfishly making their customers pay for all web content that they go to. Im switching provider, i dont intend to stay with a bunch of wankers. Theyre only fucking themselves.
<GreatRapperLenkazuka> lmao

Where there is censorship, there will be underground child porn rings. You can't stop 'em, so give up. I'M TALKING TO YOU E-AUSTRALIA! Leave NG alone and start going out and preventing crimes instead; it's more worth the money.
I was gone, FOR SO LONG

If all internet providers began to do stuff like that, it would ruin the internet.

i really cant be assed paying the amount that programs cost nowadays. flash and fl studio would cost me around 1.5k
i am dead

<+wwchicken> once i walked into the kitchen and there was a sound
<+wwchicken> but i could only hear it when i stood on one spot in the kitchen
<+wwchicken> then i turned off the light
<+wwchicken> and it was gone
<+wwchicken> then i turned the light back on and there it was again
<+wwchicken> so i thought, its an invisible alien
<+wwchicken> but hes scared of the dark

I dont particularly want to pay for my programs either, especially since i need each new version for my work. Ad agencies always upgrade immediatly, if i had to ask for them to downgrade the fla version id no doubt be out of a job.

paddyboii told m that there are already some sites in Denmark that are blocked, like that TeenChat forum I use to spam people's  AIM and MSN.
