legs are too short, the pose is too stiff. have you heard the term 'contrapposto'? in ancient greece, sculptors wanted to correct the historic trend of the stiffness of older statues. they discovered that when people stand straight, they favor one leg, making their hips tip to one side, and therefore causing their shoulders to counteract their hips, making their shoulder line tip the other direction, and giving the body a slight "s" curve. this is what made the greek statues the model for all other great sculptors to come, and they stand the test of time as some of the most real and awe-inspiring pieces to this day.

This is the first time ive heard of that term. So thats whats missing. Thanks man, i needed that. Looks like i need to study some more again before i give it another try. Also ill have a proportion check on the legs next time.
