Sure always do what you want with your art, but there isn't a rule anywhere that says you can't do what you want AND appease an audience. Besides good luck staying alive long enough to do lots of what you want if you never do anything anyone else likes. You'll be broke as fuck. Your goal as an artist isn't to alienate everyone, at least it shouldn't be. Fine if he doesn't have any other ideas that he likes that would appease a wider audience, then I guess he shouldn't do them, but we can't sit here going this guy OBVIOUSLY would only want to make the stuff he's made so far. For all we know he could be some fag who wants to make Zelda toons too, and by your logic, "work for yourself" then he should go ahead and them and he should if he wants. I won't like the toon though.


Anyway, all this to say why the hell are arguing over what he should do with his work?

i'm not really talking about him, i'm talking about everyone. and who is to say what people are going to like and not like? there are smaller niches for more abstract things, but who knows what is going to break out and be the next big thing. marketers are looking for people that are doing something new, not doing something that everyone else is doing. of course, nobody would know that because something original is chewed up in spat out almost the instant it's found due to the volumes of media being created these days.

Also, Waldemaar is a genius who should have his own  TV show. Shit, people like Bug and Zekey and even Luis and Rtil, who aren't as experimental, but still good, should all have their own shows.



I also think Andrew Kepple should, but I realize that comment will just get me a kick in the nutsack.
