maybe you just dont have the capacity to appreciate a mystery/thriller style plot.

thats what im saying, why do people have to take everything so seriously. Like my brother for example, "Only Japan can make great animation! Look at Paprika! lmao, best part is animations usually are never just made on one medium.
and yeah, I remember when I liekd all these big animes then I went "OH jesus, NOOOO" because the fan base was unbearable.

well its not like my brother is stupid or something he just loves Japan and Anime a bit... too much..

he graduated from the art institute, so he's college educated in animation. thats probably what makes it even worse, because I know he's intelligent and a great animator, and I respect his opinion a lot. But he just hates Flash so much, and loves anime... soooo much... Whatever.

if any anime fan tells you no western animators can touch paprika, just go ahead and show them the thief and the cobbler. moving on, yes dbz has way too many cliffhangers, and i've been told the reason why is because it was catching up with the manga too much, but they had to keep with a schedule, so in some episodes they'd only be covering 3/4 pages of the story. so they'd either sit there and monologue, do flashbacks or sidestories. still, it was good. haven't seen dragonball though i'd like to

Yeah I liked Dragonball more than DBZ. Dragonball was more fun and carefree and less "oh i must power up and save the world".

I'll never be able to say I didn't like DBZ because it had such a huge impact on my childhood, probably more so than pokemon and I still have like 3k+ fucken Cards in a U-haul box. But DBZ kind of got me into drawing so um!!

But looking at DBZ now I don't like it really. It's just too silly and gay for me. Dragonball is still fun though. Also I showed my brother Thief and the Cobbler, he even likes Richard Williams, but he's just too stuck in his anime faggotry. Whatever I can't be bothered worrying about his opinions since he's too close-minded.

I enjoyed them both. But Z now bores me because I know what's going to happen, and the animation doesn't thrill me in any way.


Paprika was great, but it's not even the best anime, let alone better than every western animation. And besides, why compare them anyway? They're completely different.

i started recording dragon ball z on my tivo and i saw an episode of filler that was just them relaxing like two days before the cell tournament
ten weeks afterwards the first real fight with cell hadnt even begun and i just canceled my season pass
