Just got back from seeing this baby

It was much, much better than I expected, I hold captain america the winter soldier as my gold standard for cape movies, and this clocks right up in there at #2.
Plot wise it's fast paced and could probably be described as inch deep (minus some of the foreshadowing), but the amount of immersion one feels from the care put into the vfx, modern cinematography, and well choreographed fight sequences more than make up for it. It also has some interesting food for thought in the form of entry level master persuader/hypnotist/reality bending concepts and sprinkles of buddhist/hindu worldviews.

overall 9/10 capeshit do recommend (in 3d)

Watched it tonight. Had a chance to and was shifted from the normal to 3d seats and holy balls was it an interesting experience as I was fortunate to get the best seat in the house - very back and centre (the entire theatre was vacant with the exception of the few people [seven including me] in the front - a duo were making out after the show three seats down centre from me - I just want food gimme food) with a very, very large screen showing. Cons were that it was probably from the brilliance of the light flashes that were thrown at me left-right-and-centre that I came outta the theatre illiterate(?) blind, dangerously nearsight-but-farsight. I was/am worried that my prescription's going to spike up drastically. I can read tiny text now but it scared me as I couldn't read smaller font text signs from far that I could from the given distance before. It fucked up my eyesight horribly. Warning to splurgers or it's just Yvonne being Yvonne.

Yep, I agree and here are my thoughts of the thing with the spoilers in the spoilers tag:

I was very happy with the sprinkles - that delighted me. Yes, it's a great depiction as to what was taught or manifested of these particular studies (is this real life? or is it fantasy....). It's close to what I have been trying forever to try to explain how dimensions work (from fictional writing and the paranormality of life-life).

I only see Benedict eggs as Alan Turing in The Imitation Game.

The medical mumbo-jumbo must've been a mouthful for all involved. I didn't understand how their banter was edited to flow with the other - bruh, that's amazing skills right there.

Awesome closing instrumental at the very last of the credits. Fun-fact: there are two extra end scenes. STAY FOR THE WHOLE DURATION AS MARVEL DOES THIS SHIT EVERY TIME.

There are never enough Hong's and Kong's and Wong's in this film - they need more.

The same exact lines and scene are parlayed here in this film and in The Time Traveler's Wife (my favourite book and film - you're missing out since it deals with near-realistic ideas on sci-fictional time traveling if you's gonna be all like - 'Yvonne, it's a chic flick.')!!!
There are probably now, four notches on her and time travel - three (including this one) being the lady left behind because of time travel.

The cape is a mean mistress/vixen on her own.

Basket-ball's a strong subliminal in this film. I think our Dr. James Naismith is rolling in his grave.

I want to see the not-shown, unpublished scenes now, you know? The part where he escapes Everest is bad for me. Like, the process would've been epic to watch.

Oh. If Push (2009) had the same dedication and devotion as this film throughly brings to its visuals and edits and scene sequences? Ohmigoodness it would be awesome. Revive Push please? If you haven't seen it, please do.

I liked that this film and Ant-Man were each stand-alone films where one has a more definite tie-in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the other didn't even necessarily benefit from any previous watching (with the exception of the second post-credit scene). Either, for different reasons, could be decent starting points for people who are interested in the franchise but late to the party.

one thing ill say though is that dr strange is pretty much a less funny and cool tony stark and he pretty much was one of the lowest points of the movie. but i guess the move was pretty good (and at somepoints id say conceptually amazin) despite that. but we need more to the guy.

I'll confess to not having read the comics, so I'm not sure how it goes it relation to that.

I'm sure at least a lot of the reason they wanted to cast Benedict Cumberbatch for this role is because people liked Sherlock and all they wanted him to do was have the exact same character, also riding off what they already know people like in Iron Man's character.
I think Marvel were more concerned with impressive visuals and world-building than character development in this film, which is probably okay from the point of view of most people who loved Civil War, but I feel if the films continue being clusterfucks of characters having minimal interactions with each other — and lots of 'going with the flow' for plot convenience — I'm going to lose what interest I have in this series of films pretty quickly.
I'm not sure how prominent of a role Strange is likely to have in future films, but it would be nice to see some more to the character, sure.

Of course they'll do some sort of humorous interaction between himself and Martin Freeman at some point.
