How frustrating to see a thing and think, Ah yes, I should have used that one, but now I can't because somebody else has and that would be weird.

Hobby for now, hopefully one day that'll change. Haven't gotten my hands on a forge for a bit though, will again in late july. i just do leatherworking with the extra time, need less equipment. i'd set my own stuff up if I could, but can't on my floating house, no real space

That's neat. I like looking at AWE me's videos, but figure that's obviously a romanticised depiction and the actual job would be tedious and generally a lot less interesting.
Just for the purposes of probably bothering you with the information, I'll share that I was actually offered a near free apprenticeship in blacksmithing when I was younger which I turned down.
