Let's have a thread for a movie TBA people (and bd698) may have actually seen and is worth discussing.

"He was shown the smallness and tinsel emptiness of the little Earth gods, with their petty, human interests and connections - their hatreds, rages, loves and vanities; their craving for praise and sacrifice and their demands for faiths contrary to reason and nature."

"...it stimulates the part of the brain called "shatners-bassoon", and that's the bit of the brain that deals with...time perception..."

is it bad that i had no idea this movie existed till this thread

Bamyasi

Not really. Contemporary cinema is pretty fucking terrible. I just like talking about movies because they are short and I work for like 60+ hours a week. I enjoy anime more but it's usually the first thing I cut from my schedule because I binge-watch it between jobs.

But unlike most movies these days, this one is just debatably terrible.

Thoughts?

plot sounds like Blade Runner Lite

Bamyasi

Honestly it borrows heavily from a lot more than just Blade Runner, which is why for me it was far more interesting as a meditation on misogyny than AI.

Still recommended if you like Alex Garlands other stuff.
