The Revival of the TBA TF2 server

As you may know, an increasing number of TBA users have been playing tf2 together recently, and we don't have our own private server to play on.  If I took the steps towards setting up a whitelisted server JUST FOR US, would you play?

I have an idea!!!!!!!!!

Make a mod that lights BluPhoenix on fire everytime he joins/respawns/grabs a health pack.

i would play on it at least a few times a week. i could never get back into tf2 as much as i did when i first started playing it, though.

i don't see the need to whitelist it if we use reserved slots, which will auto-kick pubs if there is no room and a VIP comes in.

i guess that makes sense, i didnt think about reserved slots. what happens if the server is full of vip users and another vip tries to join?

Can you set it so there's a larger slot limit for VIPs? Like, 24 players max, but set like 24 MORE slots for VIPs. So technically there're 48 slots, but if there're more than 24 players, only VIPs can join? (I'm tired, so that's a bit rambly. Sorry.)

i've never heard of a server with more than 32 slots, i don't think it can work.

well.. then the server is full and the server can't find anyone to kick so tough luck i guess.

i've never heard of a server with more than 32 slots, i don't think it can work.

correct - the maximum number of slots on a tf2 server is 32

if that's what people want i don't see why not. but isn't that mostly for people who are in to competitive tf2?

man the last time i played highlander is was on the OLD tba server and i always wanted to try it again but i havent found another server that does it

 I just think it'd be a nice challenge to try if we had enough players. Also I don't understand this mentality when people say something is for competitive, like are competitive players going to be mad when filthy casuals are playing their precious game mode?
