How well would you rate your driving skills?

So... how well would you rate your overall driving skills? (1 being worst, 5 being best)


I would give myself a 2 at best... im really incompetent behind the wheel, I don't trust myself when driving, always wondering "what if" or "should I really be doing this?" My weak driving skills are primarily due to my lack of depth perception and my bad tendancies to space out. I don't like driving close quarters it makes me really unfomfortable and it takes me 4x as long to pull into a parking space than most people when there are cars on both sides. Why? Well simpally because im afraid of hitting the other cars and am over cautious. Because I narrowly passed Drivers EDD, I have other problems as well, my sense of the right of way has always been weak, I only know probably half of the very basic signs and this usually causes a chain reaction of me driving like a pot smoking grandma.

But because of my extreme cautiousness, despite my horrible driving skills ive never got a ticket or pulled over, although ive probably deserved it various times for the pitiful mistakes ive made. Although ive had my licence for almost 3 years my behind the wheel time is probably barely 100 hours or more, since I only drive when absolutely necessary.

The fact that they give people like me a drivers licence makes me wonder "who else is out there?"

I can't say I share the same problems as you. I'd rate myself a 4, I don't take crap from anybody and have been told I drive like a maniac, but I've never hurt anyone and I get places faster than most people. I can't say a 5 because I'm no professional driver that's for sure and I have never driven in extreme weather conditions (but close enough to.)

Being COMPLETELY honest, I'm more of a 3 myself.  I've been driving a little but I'm still not experienced enough in my opinion.  I still suck extravagantly at parallel parking and despise tailgaters with a passion.  In highway traffic I often get anxious if there's not a car ahead of me so I can properly gauge my speed compared to everyone else.

So yup.  If you happen to see me coming down the road, clear a path quick.
