i never played on a duel map before, so I went with Korea, assuming me and crackers wouldn't spawn in fucking yelling distance from another. So I basically went no-where cause Korea isn't much of an early game civ while crackers wooped my asshole.

for anyone wondering it was Babylon vs Celts. my strategy was going to be to use early faith for war based pantheons and religious bonuses, and their Pictish Warriors for an early rush. unfortunately a huge unforeseen deficit stopped me from doing this and so i went into the long haul already behind because of Babylon's strong science. we went to war a few times and nothing really happened, but the game was won through Babylon having just enough votes to win a diplomatic victory through the united nations

beat soup in a ridiculously close game

managed a comeback from my back against the walls (of babylon) with a Mandekalu cavalry rush. couldve gone either way mid game but luckily i managed to prevent a key city from being taken

Finishing this game has been slow going, because of the 16 hour time difference and the fact that apparently Steam Cloud does not sync saves between Mac and PC for whatever reason. Gonna try to finish it in the next session, but due to the layout of our pangea I have a feeling this will be an incredibly long game:
