Edit: I didnt do a lot of songs in the past because of the drums and then reloading all the fonts for all the channels I use
And learning to organize each channel (And a bunch of other settings I don't understand like polymax limit etc).

I'd like to make a tutorial on how to sequence covers in FruityLoops but most people seem to get the hang of it right away, and I'm reluctant to waste my time on things people already know. Fewer people are using FL anyway . I might just make one anyway, I'm not sure yet.

It isn't very profound but if you're interested let me know. I'm deciding on this without any input.

Deezer released "Spleeter"
Spleeter's a neat tool in that it rips vocal audio a little better than other acapella creating tools in the past; It uses neural AI networks to identify the sound of each instrument and splits them up. You would normally need to run the tool from command line using python, but https://melody.ml/ will run spleeter from your web browser for you. I created these files as a result.

I think im gonna move toward reworking songs I didnt like as much.


I keep thinking about making a tutorial; but what version or software do I use.
These are the general steps I take for most covers:

1) Find an mp3 you like
2) Open Audacity/SoundForge,
3) Get rid of the mp3 gap, Save it as WAV (no more mp3 gap).
    mp3s encode a gap whenever you save them, you'll have a better time finding tempos if you remove these
4) Find the tempo
    This takes several more steps and a bit of guess work
    e.g. i) If its too slow, raise it 5 bps
          ii) If it's too fast, lower it 5 bps
          iii) If its inbetween , raise it or lower it 0.800, 0.500 , 0.300 etc
          iv) Check for Tempo Changes***

5) Lay out the notes in the step sequencer / piano roll
     i) Find out if the song uses triplets (1 + 1/2 or 1.5 notes)  or not,****
       
The rest goes specfically into using FL and laying out patterns on the playlist and all that

6) Lay out notes
    i) Change instruments
    ii) Change Soundfonts
   iii) Add a Filter, and or Reverb, depending on whatever etc. Use a Filter to prevent clipping

7) Export and name properly.

8) Export to Midi for use in synthesia etc (Optional)

The above is a very generalized list of what I've done. You can get started with a copy of FL4,(why??) FL12 or garageband or abletonlive or whatever I'm not familiar with anything besides FL4 though, but most of this just involved a lot of patience and taking a lot of breaks. You're only limited by your ability to try and try and try and try etc.
