Its Newgrounds Animation Tourny. If you win the whole thing you get like 5 hundo or something. You get 20 just for making it past the open round though. Wanted to do a lot more with this but had to cut corners. Part of it is working fulltime at my other job. Shit sux~~

I just got that feelin~. Also a bunch of them have gotten frontpaged and its rating isn't that high etc etc.

Mostly I was just depressed when I said that shit because I had other things going on in my life I don't care so much now just get back on that horse.

Although I do want people to not bullshit me about my work which means if any of you guys legitimately don't think I have the talent for animation and should just quit to tell me so or if I just am lacking tell me my shortcomings you guys are the closest thing I have to peers now that I've graduated.

i think you have improved a lot over the years. but i feel like i've never seen anything truly finished from you. a front to back, high production short with consistency and a meaningful attempt at telling a story. i'd like to see what you are capable of when you put your all into every scene.

your animation is pretty solid when you want it to be. but i think your background art and anatomy could use some work. sometimes elements of your cartoons tend to clash

I have a consistency problem for sure as I usually get bored and want to experiment a new idea or style with each scene. Backgrounds have never been a strong point of mine or landscapes but I'm trying to work on that.

When you say anatomy you mean in general or like keeping it consistent during the animation?

sometimes the proportions of your animated character seem a little out of whack. again not always because of the inconsistent nature of some things. like in the zorbatron cartoon the scientist looking fellow at the beginning was pretty poorly drawn and bad design, but the guys with jetpacks and guns loading into the spaceship were much better.

Yea the scientist dude was rushed. Was running out of time and just had to slap him together. I'm getting my hours cut down from work and I'm gonna try spending more of my freetime looking and applying for animation jobs and just animating in general. The east coast fucking sucks for jobs in that field though but I'll try and figure something out.

The other worry I had is maybe I work to slow and other people animate faster than me. Like my workflow is shitty or something.

Anyway the feedback is really appreciated budd0

don't worry about what other people do. just focus on doing the best you can do. the more you animate, the faster you will get

I tried to find some and I almost feel like it'd be too late for me since I graduated and they usually dont pay well or at all and Im on my own now so its been sort of tough! I did just find out that the studio Soup2Nuts is right in Boston and I just sent them an email with my portfolio and a cover letter so well see how that goes. Some other ones I found recently too so well see.
